BREATHING.

Breathing is respiration.

Not breathing is dyspnea.(air hunger, shortness of breath)

What is Normal respiratory rate?.

Adult is 12 to 20 breath per minute at rest.

Less than 12 per minute is not good.

Also above 25 breath per minute is not good either.

Ineffective breathing pattern is when the inhalation and exhalation does not allow proper emptying.

This is due to so many factors such as shortness of breath, dyspnea, abnormal gas exchange, cyanosis ,fremitus ,tachypnea, coughing, nasal flaring etc.

With the stethoscope you can hear air passing in and out of the lungs.

When someone said, “I can’t breathe “take it serious because if there is no immediate solution for the person to breathe. Death is imminent.

Albuterol is usually prescribed by the doctor for shortness of breath or wheezing. When someone stop breathing the brain and the lungs have been denied of oxygen.

If someone cannot breathe there is obstruction of the airway. Remove the obstacle, elevate the head, give oxygen. Call respiratory therapist, notify the doctor immediately. Breathing is a collaborative effort of the instant pressure from the respiratory muscle and the volume of air in a breathing cycle. To breathe properly some energy is required. You cannot ignore someone that is not breathing well.
