IMPORTANCE OF NURSING PROCESS.

Nursing process is a series of steps, procedures, or action that you ( Registered nurse)will take to reach a particular end result. Without using the nursing process to take care of patients, evidenced based practice will become difficult to achieve. The main purpose of nursing process is to help the nurse manage the patients physically, emotionally and holistically. So you will need to follow the five criteria of nursing process to do a good job in taking care of the patients.

Nursing process achieve for the patient evidenced based practice, individualized plan of care, holistic care, and continuity of care. Nursing process when use in a systematic manner will achieve a precise and effective plan of action. The whole nursing team and ancillary staff will achieve a significant impact on the care of the patients. This give the nurses the opportunity to evaluate data collected, diagnoses of patients, plans of care, Implementation(intervention)of the plan of care. And identify the variables that contributed to the success or failure of the total goal achieved.Evaluation of the plan of care implemented shows the success or failure of the plan of care implemented.

If the nurse have knowledge of the nursing process, they will realize that they can take care of the sick in any type of hospital settings. The nursing process is a systematic approach that will direct the nurses on how to assess, plan ,implement nurse care plan together with the patient. The nurse need to work with the patient to achieve a better response from the patient.

Patient assessment is an ongoing process. It allows continuous communication and validation of data collected. The data collected will show the problems and the factors that are associated with those problems. Then a step by step plans will be designed to achieve that goal. The implementation period which is simply implementation of the step by step plan of care. After the implementation, the the evaluation of what was implemented is very important. Is it successful or do we need to change methods of treatment, if is it’s not successful. That is the re-evaluation of the plan of care should be done. For example wound that is not infected will be healing in two to four weeks ,the size of the wound will reduce. But if it is not reduced the wound need to be re-evaluated in two to four weeks of care again.Nursing process allows the nurse and patient to work together to achieve a specific goal.
