What is the purpose?.
A respirator Medical evaluation is for a fitted test done to make sure that the mask that you wear to do your job fit your face and well sealed properly around your nose and mouth.Several exercises are done for safety reasons making sure that you are well fitted with the correct mask.All respirator mask including N95 are tested.Be Complaint with OSHA GUIDELINES.
The purpose is to see if you have a Medical condition that can prevent you from wearing a respirator. So medical professionals are tested every year due to the nature of their jobs.Or when there is new model or size of respirator has changed .If you fail test additional questions or more testing are required until you pass the fitness test.
If you have a medical condition don’t hesitate to let them know and it will remain confidential. I believe that you will be provided with alternative that you can use for your safety, patients and others. The test takes a few minutes. Most people don’t like the test but it got to be done for you to continue working.
