WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF PROFESSIONAL NURSING?.

In nursing, professionalism can be defined as the action that you as a nurse take honoring the values, respect, responsibility, accountability while advocating for your patients. It is the promotion, protection, prevention of illness and injury .The alleviation of pain and suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of individuals, families,communities and populations,and human response to treatments.

As a nurse ,you will need to have good attributes that will improve your communication with your patients.These are:

Active listening,

Respect and

Empathy.

When you become skilled in these areas,plus your professional nursing skills.(Nursing process)The sky is your limit.

Several attempts to define nursing by Florence Nightingale, International Council of Nurses (ICN)and the American Nurses Association.(ANA)The definition of professional nursing has never been easy to understand than now.
