HOW DO YOU PREVENT MRSA INFECTION?.(Few things to note)

MRSA ( Methicillin -resistant Staphylococcus aureus)is known as a bacterial infection that can spread easily through our skin,laundry, bedding,contact to contact. It is antibiotics resistant.

If you have MRSA infection you should let your health care provider know so that they can take the necessary precautions to prevent the spread such as washing their hands, wearing gloves when taking care of you as a patient. They should wear isolation gown to prevent the infection from getting to their clothes.

Culture will be taken to be tested for MRSA.

They will swab your nose upon arrival to emergency room. If you have wound it will be swab and drained, antibiotics started after the Culture result came back.The result will determine the types of bacterial burden and the type of antibiotics.

Sometimes the bacteria might go away on its own. If you are infectious you might be placed in isolation. Follow your Hospital policy and procedures on MRSA.

THOROUGH HAND WASHING ALWAYS.

Hand washing is the top most important ways to prevent infection from spreading.

Wash your hands before eating and after eating.Shower every day.

Frequently wash your hands. Sanitize your hand with hand sanitizer if you did not soil your hands with body fluids or blood.

Wash your hands before making food and after food preparation.

Eat balanced meals. Don’t 🚬smoke,avoid stress. That argument is not necessary. Be happy and do the right thing.

Wash your hands after using the 🚻restroom. Wash your hand before blowing your nose and after blowing your nose.

Wash your hand after touching what is for the public such as phones,door knobs ,shopping cart etc.

Wash your hands after urinating ,after bowel movement, after changing linen .

Wash your hands after coughing or sneezing. Cough into a tissue.Always cover your mouth when you cough and wash your hands after coughing.

Washing your hands in everything you do before and after doing it will help.

MRSA lives on the skin so take good care of your skin.

Do not share personal items such as razors, toothpaste, toothbrush and towels with others. Special precautions is very important when you have MRSA.

If you have recurrent MRSA other family members might also need to be tested and treated.

Keep your house or place of residence in clean condition.

DON’T SHARE PERSONAL ITEMS WITH OTHERS .LET YOUR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER KNOW IF YOU HAVE MRSA.
