Stupor is a medical condition that interfere with the functioning of the brain.

Factors that can contribute to Stupor are :


Brain tumors,

Severe vital brain deficiency,

Brain infection,

Induce stupor.

Severe mental illness can also cause stupor. People with severe clinical depression, Schizophrenia may enter into stupor.

Stupor is a lack of clinical mental functionality .

It cause can also be underlying mental condition. Stupor ( Decreased in consciousness) is a term used sometimes to describe people who are extremely intoxicated due to drugs or alcohol. Diagnostic tests:

MRI of the brain is done to check for lesion. Treatment: Intravenous antibiotics to treat infection.

Neurosurgeon consult done.

General Surgery consultation.

Oncology consultation done.
