The Assistant nurse works under the Nurse manager. He/ she manages the activities of the unit ,sometimes more than one unit.Monitor quality service and utilization of standards. Supervise the day to day activities of the unit and reports to the Nurse Manager.
Essential Responsibilities.
Manage the units day to day clinical expectations including Practice Nursing Standards, and hospital routines, staffing, payroll, budgets, fiscal management and quality improvement.The Assistant Nurse Manager will be able to completely manage with confidence and report to the Supervisor or the CEO when the Nurse Manager is away from the hospital.
Making sure that the highest quality of care is provided and is in compliance with the Federal government, State and local Regulatory requirements ,and establish departmental policies and procedures for the nurses and staff in general.
Develops and implement action plans to improve staff development. Supervises a single unit or more . Monitor the allocation and utilization of personnel based on continual changes in patient population needs and provides the best level of patient while identifying savings. opportunities.
The assistant nurse manager plays the role of a teacher,an advocate, a leader that assert self confident in the practice of nursing to the nursing staff when providing care .This style of leadership will affect change and elevate patients care. As a counselor uses therapeutic interpersonal style of communication skills to solve problems and communicate effectively in day to day activities which include patients conditions, family coping,conflict resolutions, life crisis or deaths.
