BEST PRACTICES FOR NURSE MANAGEMENT INCLUDES. 1.Understanding the importance of empowerment. Empowerment of your staff encouraging them to take important decisions knowing fully well that you cannot be there 24/7. 2.Visibility is being there physically or by phone,or texting staff/ charge nurse,and participating in hourly rounds of patients when they around.And recognition of each staff and see what they are doing. 3.Role modeling, solving problems and resolving conflicts. Are there understanding among the nurse managers and the staff nurses?. Are nurses willing to share their feedback?. Are there misunderstanding or misconception?. Can communication be synchronize in the work?. Is there realistic expectations?. Why is retention important in good manager versus poor manager?. Do managers need to connect with staff?. Are staff empowered to make appropriate decisions?. Are there role modeling in the management leadership role?. Do manager trust their staff to make decisions without being reprimanded?.Is coaching Role modeling important?. Encourage your staff not to backstab,or backbit each other.If there is a conflict call them in to resolve the conflict.What do you think?.Please comment on this.
