HOW DO YOU PRACTICE SELF CARE?.

I have not indulge myself in practicing self care until recently. In those days the practice of self care behaviors were so distant from me.I believed in caring for others not me.With time I have realized that practicing self care is not selfishness.It is taking care of yourself so that you can be good and healthy to take care of others.

How do you practice self-care?

I was wondering why some people advised me to stop and celebrate myself.I did not get it then but now I got it very well. Practicing self care is not just meeting up with your physiological needs such as your personal hygiene, taking care of your nutritional needs, fluid intake and elimination.It is much more than that. It involves taking care of your physiological needs, spiritual needs and psychological needs. To practice self care is to do the followings.

1.You should love yourself enough to take adequate care of yourself. I love me to love 😍 you.

2.Personal hygiene: This includes keeping your skin clean, brush your teeth and floss as required. Your mouth and nose without mucus,clean your eyes apply eye drops if recommended by your doctor. Keep your linen clean and your room or apartment clean.

3. Drink adequate water every day and as you wake up in the morning drink one glass of water. I don’t drink adequate water every day but I have made some improvements recently.

4.Adapt the type of lifestyle that you want.Do not emulate any person’s lifestyle unless you want to be unhappy. Take the required medications that is ordered by your doctor.

5.Eat healthy everyday. Eat balanced meals three times a day will be good. ( Carbohydrate, protein and fat)And if needed take your supplemental vitamins for daily maintenance. Follow up with your doctor appointment.

6.Have positive people that are motivational. Feather weight friends can be energy depleting.

7.Exercise : I like to go for a walk around the block. Dancing is another type of exercise for me. I turn on the music and 💃 🕺 dance.

8.Laughter: Have you laugh for today?.Laughing helps to exercise your lungs. Go get your 😂 😂 😂 laugh for the day.I already did.

9.Me time: This is the time to reflect, relax, eliminate stress and gather energy.

10.Celebration of yourself. Have you stopped and count your blessings. Count your blessings one after the other. I am very grateful for my life,for people that love me,grateful for the air that I breathe.

11.In the middle of all of these I do my 📝 writings. I love writing.
