Why should the nurse and patient work together?.

The nurse and the patient should work together as partners for:

1.The patient provides information about himself or herself and the nurse puts the data collected together, check the diagnostic studies and laboratory results. Using the five steps of nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan with the patient on what the nurse will be doing for the patient. The plan should have obtainable goals. Communicate the goals with the patient.The nurse implement the plan and check to see if it is working based on what the patient says and the nurse objective findings such as vital signs, laboratory tests and physical assessment.

2.To prevent disease and illnesses.

3.They should work together to promote wellness.

4.Restore patient health through patient education, adequate nutritional intake and compliance with the plan of care.

5.Help and support patient to be able to cope with altered functions making it easier for the patient and family.
