I wonder if this question is directly referring to me.On a second thought no it is just a general question for everyone .I must confess that I have not been having enough sleep recently and I will not want to be hospitalized due to ” self inflicted insomnia.

I go to bed at 2am and I woke up at 06am. I know that having enough sleep can be protective and restorative for my health and the health of everyone. We are suppose to spend one third of the day asleep. The importance of having a good night sleep is due to the strong believe that sleep can do the followings:

1.Reduce stress and anxiety disorder .2.Allows and gives you the ability to cope with your daily routine.

3.Restore and improve your physical well-being.

4.It is a state in which the body is forced to go into decreased activity mode and getting refresh.

Sleep is known as a state of unconsciousness throughout with different levels of sleep and arousal by the brain. Sleep is an active and progressive rhythm with repeated cycles. Some people will fall asleep quickly and remain asleep, while some will have fragmented sleep. Whereas some will hardly fall asleep without a struggle.Some people have undetected sleep problems for a long time.There are so many factors that can affect our sleep but the discussion will be for another day.

I try not to fall asleep until I finish what I need to do for the day including my house chores even though I feel sleepy.

If you’re having difficulty or trouble falling asleep or staying asleep talk to your healthcare professionals so that they can prescribe medication for insomnia. As for me I promise myself that I must make serious changes and get atleast seven to eight hours of sleep very day.
