COMPETENCE.

A competent nurse is the nurse with required nursing skills and knowledge to perform their nursing duties successfully.

Competent nurses are skilled in every aspect of nursing care and are capable of meeting up with their patients needs.

Competent nurses through intellectual, the use of technical support and interpersonal skills are effective and efficient in what they do.

Competent nurses provide optimal care to their patients by evaluating their own strengths and weaknesses and make improvements on their deficiency.

The patients will develop a trusting relationship and respect for their nurses. Nurses develop sensitivity to the various situations presented by each patient and the effects these have on their communication with their patients.

Adequate communication ,interpersonal skills,nursing skills, and knowledge will lead to evidence based patient care .
