The aspect of my cultural heritage that I am most proud is “Respect for seniors”. Every society acknowledge the importance of respect for seniors.
In Japan respect for the aged is one of the public holiday celebration every year to honor senior citizens. It became a national holiday in 1966.

It is very important to respect and appreciate seniors in my culture. Respect for seniors is basic and fundamentally needed and respected.
How do we respect our seniors?.
1.Elders are respected and honored by visiting them.
2.Bringing gifts to seniors.
3.Listen to your father and mother who brought you into this world.
4.Don’t despise your mother because she is old.
5.They came ahead of you.
6.Honor them by respecting and caring for them.
7.Honor and respect them for your days to be long.
8.It is very important to model obedience by respecting your seniors.
9.Honor your father and mother (Proverb 23:22)

10.Seniors are full of life experiences, wisdom, good judgment, endurance and you can learn so much from them.

As we age we become fragile with some chronic diseases and need to be acknowledged,cared for and respected.

Every culture has respect for their seniors. And do certain things differently to honor and respect their seniors.
I think respect for seniors doesn’t need to make a special day it is our duty 👌
