What is Loss?.

Loss is when a valuable person, animal, object or situation change. Or it is made unreachable so that the value reduces or is eliminated completely.

There are different types of loss.Each and everyone has experienced loss in one way or the other.

1.ACTUAL LOSS.

This is a loss recognized by the victim and by other people. For example the loss of spouse,the loss of a pet,the loss of a limb,loss of a job and or a valuable object.

2.PHYSICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL LOSSES.

Examples of these loss are as follows: The loss of an arm due to car accident. The victim will suffer from both physical and psychological due to alteration in physical appearance and inability to function effectively leading to loss of employment. The person suffers from actual loss,physical loss and psychological loss.

3. PERCEIVED LOSS.

This loss is felt by the person directly involved but invisible or intangible to others. For example loss of financial independence, loss of valuable environment, loss of youth.A person suffers of perceived and psychological loss if a person is scared due to the accident but does not loss any of the extremities .(limbs)

4.ANTICIPATORY LOSS.

In this case the person is anticipating a loss that has not yet happened. Families with terminal illness often anticipate this kind of loss.This usually has tremendous effects on the affected especially as you aged.
