When was the first time you really felt like a grown up.(if ever)#Dailywriting prompt.

This is a great question. The first time that I really felt like a grown up was when I first graduated from college as a teacher. After I graduated from college, I realized that I am no longer under the control of my father and mother.I was in my early 20s. But I needed financial freedom to really be free from my parents control.

I got my posting to work in elementary school for one year.I was full of joy that I have to leave the house and rent my own apartment far away from home. I got my first paycheck I kneeled down and thank God. I paid my rent bought my food stuff for the month. The next month I got paid again, it was not much but someone is becoming independent .πŸ˜‚ I bought πŸ“¦ πŸ“¦ gifts for my parents.I got my mom a blouse , fruits of the loom underwear for my father ,T-shirt and watch for my grandfather .I went home majestically like a hero.I sat down with my parents and started having conversations with them. They were very happy and proud of me.My father advised me to make sure that I am saving. I nodded ,then my mom turned to me and asked when are you getting married?. You’re now a full adult with a job.I felt like I should disappear. I am happy mom please don’t mess my day up.

The next day I went to see my grandfather and he advised me not to disclose everything that I have and that I should invest for my future. I was very pleased because my parents and grandparents saw me as a responsible adult. I was focused and I found time to prepare for my teaching for Monday class using my laptop. I followed all the teaching methodology guidelines while I was there with my parents.

They were very pleased with their gifts. God I pray for me to do better everyday. I love my freedom may I not depend on my mom and dad again. This I pray for financial freedom keep me secured and in good health amen. πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚
