These are some of the Reportable Events to know as a Nurse.

1.Abuse,neglect or starvation of a child or elderly.If you suspected or it is alleged that there are evident of abuse,neglect or starvation.

2.Accident or injury.For example industrial accident or home,Vehicle.

3.Child death.A child under the age 18years .

4.Alcoholism and drug abuse.Acute alcoholism,drug addiction.

5.Drowning and the complications associated with it.

6. Death by Fire ,that is death related to fire.

7. Disease Exposure.This include contagious diseases such as TB.It could be from occupation or environmental related.

8.Cutody death: This can be County,Federal ,State prison.It could be developmentally disabled,criminal or person with mental issues.

9.Poisoning whether intentional or unintentional.

10.Operating room accident. Procedure related.

11.Unidentified Decendant.That is a corpse of a person which the police cannot establish the identity or the next of kin.

12.Suicide.Death by suicide should be reported.

1.If you have a cusody patient that is in restraint and he or she died in restraint while in custody. Should it be reported?.

2.If your patient has not been seen by a physician(doctor) for over two weeks.Should it be reported?. What do you think?.

3. As a nurse you observe that self induced or illegal abortion has been performed.Should it be reported?.

A. Yes □.

B No □.
