Preparation for the trip.

In preparation for the trip I visited the doctor’s office to find out what I would need for the trip such as vaccination and medications.

He gave me prescription for malaria drugs and the phone number that I should call to obtain all the required vaccination against cholera, typhoid fever salmonella poison etc. I can’t remember all the names since it happened over fifteen years ago 😂 Assessment done to see if I am physically fit to travel,laboratory test which included WBC, Hgb ,Hct, Cholesterol levels,urine analysis, LFT and my malaria medication, and some antibiotics, I got myself Imodium,Tylenol, and all the good stuff.

Have you expired?.

Check passport has not expired.

Check for your passport six months before you travel so that in case it has expired. You should fill out the renewal form ,with your 2×2 and mail it in for renewal.

The picture must be on a white background .( form DS- 82)

Have your passport to submit with your application.

Have the required documents for example change of name .

Group Preparation for the Health fair.

Got all required supplies such as blood pressure machines.

We had all the needed supplies including some snacks for the natives.

Blood sugar and blood pressure were checked and referrals made to follow up in hospitals. Some of the patients complied with the recommendation and some did not follow up with their primary doctor 😷 or go to the hospital. They went home with some of the goodies given to them even though their blood pressure was extremely high.

The Day of Travel.

I expected and looked forward to it.We traveled from Los Angeles international Airport to armsterdam and to Lagos Nigeria. Spend two days in the hotel before going through the bus to the village to participate in the Health Fair mission. The health fair was a four days affair. But I stayed for two weeks .Like I said previously it is a long story but I will cut it in half. 🌗 I apologize for that.

I love KLM.I boarded the flight from los angeles airport in the evening .I had my two luggages with one carry on.I was extremely happy that I am going to be useful and at the same time see my people that I have not seen for a long time. I enjoyed the flight and the food was very delicious, the wine,the drinks, water,snacks. That was then, things have seriously changed.

Is it for the worst or better?.I don’t know. I choose you to be the judge.The health fair went really well. I could not find any pictures to show. After the health fair I traveled to my village were misery became my middle name. My beloved parents have gone to heaven and I couldn’t see them while they were alive.I just sat on the grave site and cried. My older came and told me to leave them alone.I became unhappy until I finally returned back to USA.

So many of us left when our parents were still young and active with the hope of returning home soon.But life gave us 🍋 and it took many years to convert it to lemonade. During the process of struggling trying to find our feet we lost the most valuable treasure that money can never buy.

Traveled to USA 🇺🇸 with hope to return home and meet them alive that dream never materialize. I say to you today with tears in my eyes please visit your parents, your family if you can do so.Please keep in touch because when they are gone they are gone.😢 😢 Their ghost yes that is not what you want.
