In those days when honesty was alive, the truth matters. If you are honest you’re respected. If you seek God you will find him. Before civilization hit us on the face. That is the era when civilization were yet to be born. Society has not reached an advance stage of social, cultural development and organization. When men were their brothers keeper. There was a strong beliefs in God, Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross for our sins. Morality was the order of the day.
I grew up in those days, we learned and believed in so many stories, legends, ancestral stories of families and communities that is passed from one generation to another. These traditions involved dancing, singing. I glued myself to television watching Babalawo video. It told a story of a man who was advised on what to do but he did the opposite and his stomach became swollen so he returned to the medicine man to apologize for not following basic instructions. I cannot remember everything but I was so attached it then .I sang with them and I demonstrated with them while watching television.
Oral tradition shared in those days on television involves storytelling, legend myths, proverbs. It teaches us to be obedient, loyal to our parents and to respect our seniors. More importantly not be a stranger in our father’s land.I later read and watched Mister Roger’s Neighborhood. It is so interesting and funny that later on my children loved and watched Mister Rogers Neighborhood.Babalawo stories paid a lot of tribute to so many African legend. It was a folklore.
https://www.nursesyoumoveme.com The above is not Babalawo story but the book tells stories about how the goat named Paul heard that the Lion King Joshua was sick,he decided to go and visit the sick lion. His family advised him to stay home but he disobeyed them and traveled. The lion was surprised to see him.He was lucky that his visit was a success.

When I was growing up, we watched all the Disney movies. My family would bring a huge amount of popcorn and we’d all sit in the car and watch them at the drive-in theater.
