ββIt might interest you to know that the items that I was incredibly attached to were books πβand assisting my mother in her business, cook , clean, andβ school debates. I love reading novels, debating in school and winning the debates. One of the topics debated in those days was,”Women Education should end in the Kitchen “.I fought like a wounded lioness and supported that women Education should be promoted, empowered and must not end in the kitchen.
ββFor me to be effective during my high school and beyond debates I had to read books. Some of the books that I read was Beyond Pardon by Bertha M.Clay.When I started reading Beyond pardon I could not stop orβputβ the bookβdownβI sleptβwithβtheβbook. The reasonβisβbecause I wanted to see what happened next.So Iβkept wondering what will the nextβpage talk about. I couldn’t keep the book down. It is a romantic fictionβcaptivatingβnovel that talks about the dangers and emotions of adultery. It was a tragedy. I don’t want to burst your bubble but you need to get it from Amazon.com.β
βThe other item that I was incredibly attached to was theβ”Passport of Mallam llia “by Cypril Ekwensi. It was first published in 1960.It was a love story mixed with vengeance on the death of his wifeβZarah.I read this books over thirty years ago so can no longer remember all the details but it kept me going. I read so many books but I started with these three.β
β There are otherβbooks that I read when I was younger, much younger. My other book was Things fall apart by Chinua Acheba. He began his writing of this book byβstatingβthat Mr Okonkwo was well known in nine villages and beyond. Okonkwo to beginβwithβis a well known igbo name. When you hearβOkonkwo, Okeke, Okoye,Okafor,Nwoye make no mistake these are common igbo names. As for the meaning I don’t know. Things fall apart was published in 1958 by an Igbo man,a great authorβprofessor Chinua Achebe. It is a story that depicted the culture, and life in igbo land.It talked about yams, pounded yams, bitterleaf soups, the foods, the palm-tree, palm wine, the conversations, and the crowd. All of these are the embodiment of the igbo culture and traditions before colonization. But now things have fallen apart more and the center canβno longerβholdβcompounded withβthe factβthat most people have resorted to hate, wickedness, envy, and greed.
What becameβofβtheβΓ¬tem areβ as follows:
A.Change in focus and reading other novelsβand textbooks.
B.Went to college to pursue by destiny.
C.Got married and immigration.
D.Family – childrenβand new direction.
