I have been lucky to be loved on several occasions from my parents to my director and managers at work. No I am not delusional I have been very lucky to be loved and loved.
Here are some examples.
1. Loved by parents: I used to be very very quiet, shy and don’t share much.As a result of my quiet ways I assumed that my parents did not love me because I was too quiet but I was so wrong. My other siblings were more lively and active than myself.
On one occasion during discussions with my mom she showered praises on me so much and gave me lots of encouragement. I said mom why are you doing this. I thought that you don’t love me.She told me that they loved me beyond my imagination.
2. On several occasions when I assisted her in her shop by selling things for her so many people told me how my mom talked so much about me,and they thought that I was her only child.I started paying attention and realized that my parents loved me very well.
3.I recalled the first day that I started my menstruation ,my father took great care of me.He cooked for me and encouraged me to eat.I was thirteen years old.
4.Marriage and Birth of my daughter:I was filed with joy and happiness when my daughter was born . She was brought out by my female doctor then ( Doctor B.is late ) I heard my daughter crying she was placed on my chest for few seconds then taken away to be cleaned up. She was later brought to me after cleaning and all the new born tests were completed.
5. Doctor B was wonderful, she was the best. My daughter was placed on my chest and I refused to let go.But the nurses came and took her away after some time . But the love, the bonds and connections had started and were inseparable for life.
The same love and bonds were established with my other children. To love and be loved is very powerful and money cannot buy love.It is natural.
6.School/ USC: When I was in my nursing school my director was very supportive even when I wanted to withdraw she refused rather encouraged and gave me study group to help me go through my academic studies. I complied and followed her instructions and graduated.
7. Work: I was loved when I worked at Long Beach hospital. The manager Linda Sergeant was very pleased with me.I am very grateful. She protected and defended me when I was bullied and abused by some of my colleagues.
8. Work/ LAUSC: I had a director that was like a sister .She understood me and knew that I spoke the truth no matter what. So when I spoke the truth the doctor got offended she defended me because some doctors wanted to use short cuts and I refused. Why do you want to take patient to surgery without H and P( History and Physical) in the chart?.
As far as I was concerned twenty five years ago that is a no,no,no.She stood by me whereas some managers would be against me for them to retain their job but not my director at LAUSC .
8. Work/Riverside : I was loved by my director then she gave me a raise on several occasions and promoted to management level but unfortunately I did not accept the new position because we moved away temporarily.
9. When I got employed at Regional Medical Center of San Jose. I embraced it with all my heart. Luckily for me I was loved by my director , manager and some of my colleagues.
10. When you are loved honesty becomes the right thing to do. I was able to speak the truth without holding my tongue . I got elevated when I spoke the truth. I gained respect because of my honesty.Whereas in other facility honesty is a crime. They wanted fake honesty.
For me honesty is love.Love is honesty, love is endurance, hope,faith, trust, perseverance.
” Love is not boastful, arrogant or rude,love is patient,it is not irritable or resentment. It doesn’t rejoice at wrong doing but rejoices with the truth.Love is a way to relate to others”1 Corinthians Chpter 13 verse 4 to 8.
