I am not a candy lover due to the fear of dental cavity. But once in awhile I will eat snickers at work if given by vendors or during Halloween season and that is all.
Dental Caries: When the teeth decay with the formation of cavities it is referred to as Dental Caries. And caries will develop when we are unable to remove plaque. The plaque are difficult to remove and it builds up and eventually lead to the destruction of tooth enamel.
If you want to fight plaque successfully you must eliminate sweet candy, snacks in between meals such as gummy, candy, soft drinks, gums ,jellies and jams.Thorough cleaning and use of fluoride toothpaste, dental floss , and mouth rinse can help.
I know that the major causes of tooth loss for people older than thirty seven years is gum disease.I try my best and I still have cavity. I often wonder what would happen if I ate candy frequently. I would have been referred as the woman that has no teeth or I could have retained all my teeth. Who knows.
In conclusion I will recommend to speak with your healthcare provider before you indulge in candy.
