My Disguised Gifts.

Gifts can be defined according to dictionary as favor,benefits, presents, donations, offering, souvenirs, remembrance,charity,bonus,subsidy,tip, grants, tribute, award,rewards etc.

On one faithful day I decided to resign from the job that has fed me and my family for more than a decade. But remember that a toad does not run in a bright daylight for nothing. Something bigger than the toad must be after the toad.

My resignation was destined to become the best decision that I have ever made .And the best gifts that I have ever received. I have worked in this hospital for over ten years as a staff nurse and charge nurse.

From nowhere it started like a set up, pain was inflicted on me several times.Fingers pointed at me ,backstabbing and with time it became unbearable I came to work with prepared resignation letter atleast three times.

I often had the worst assignment. I couldn’t take a break to use the bathroom or eat my lunch. I wish that I had a leg bag on so that I could urinate in my leg bag. But I don’t have a leg bag so I used the bathroom once in twelve hours.

I could hear the CNA talk and laugh about my assignment. Then one of them came to ask me about my assignment and they all laughed and disappeared. Well I didn’t turn in my resignation letter on that day rather I torn my resignation.

Two weeks later I wrote a new resignation letter but was discouraged by some of my colleagues .I didn’t not submit my resignation letter.On that same night I had this weird dream where I saw myself in the mix of new people,different people. I realized that faith is calling me.

At this junction I summoned my family meeting to discuss the need for me to resign because I am no longer happy at this job.

My daughter advised me to stop the withdrawal of my resignation letter and to let my resignation letter go through the proper channel.So I submitted my resignation letter and let it go through human resources.

It was the best decision and the best gifts that I could ever received. Two months later I got a job that paid me twice of what my previous job was paying with benefits and decreased in workload. I couldn’t control myself. I will jump up to do certain work and my new director will say Philomena no sit down we have the Orderly that is their job.One day she caught me taking out the trash from my patient’s room, she advised me to call the house keeper.For me it is nothing, I did all of that in my former job.

And the best part is that I was able to be myself and be honest about situations no matter how bad it is. You are sure that you will not be punished for being yourself. My previous job will not pay social security when you retire but my new job is paying social security and a fabulous 401k.

I kneeled down and thank my God.Every disappointment pay attention could be a blessing in disguise and your best gifts.I love my director, my manager and my colleagues while I was there. I left there after seven years due to illness.( COVID19)
